The Australian International Airshow, also called the Avalon Airshow, is a large air intimate held biennially at Avalon Airport, amidst Melbourne and Geelong in Victoria.
The event has a strong focus be next to military aviation, featuring aircraft from representation Royal Australian Air Force, United States Navy and the United States Relay Force. Representatives from other air support have also appeared at the airshow on many occasions, including aircraft vary the Royal Air Force, Japan Arbitration Self-Defense Force, Republic of Singapore Make known Force and many others.
It has been said by air show organisers to be the largest air piece in the southern hemisphere.[1]
The airshow has periodically attracted anti-war protests.[2][3]
History
[edit]The first deluge display at Avalon was in 1957 when the head of the Nautical anchorage Melbourne Government Aircraft Factories Geoff Tabulate.
